Home game: the Amundi German Masters in Winsen

Once a year the Ladies European Tour comes to Germany and everything is different. At the Amundi German Masters on the Green Eagle Golf Courses in Winsen there are German fans along the ropes, you hear your name in German and a Ferris wheel turns behind the course. A home game.

More than a result

On the scorecard it was a solid rather than outstanding week, T25. The week before in Mauritius had set the bar high. But the German Masters is the one tournament of the year where more matters than the score.

The next generation, for example. At the Golf like a Girl clinic I stood on the range with dozens of girls, hit balls and answered questions. If even a few of them stick with the game, that was the most valuable hour of the week.

A German week

From a German perspective the tournament was strong anyway: Leonie Harm won her first LET title and several of us played our way up the leaderboard. The depth in German women’s golf is higher than it has been in a long time and I am proud to be part of it.
