T5 in Mauritius: my best LET finish
Palm trees behind the fairway, spectators all the way to the green and me right in the middle of the final group on Sunday. The MCB Ladies Classic in Mauritius was a first for the Ladies European Tour and for me the tournament where a lot of things I had worked on for a long time finally came together.
The bogey-free 67
After a solid start I shot a bogey-free 67 in round two and went into the weekend sharing the lead. That round was proof to me that my game does not just keep up at LET level, it belongs at the top of the leaderboard.
On Sunday I played in the final group alongside the eventual winners. In the end it was T5, my best finish on tour. Of course you want more in a moment like that. But that weekend I learned what the top of an LET leaderboard feels like and I take that feeling into every tournament from now on.
What the result means
The T5 moved me up to 37th in the Order of Merit. For my second season on tour that is a foundation to build on. The plan stays the same: get better week by week. The next chances are coming and I am looking forward to every one of them.
