Green Eagle Golf Courses: my home game
Once a year the Ladies European Tour comes to Germany and a tournament week suddenly feels completely different. Green Eagle in Winsen is the place where I hear my name in German from the edge of the fairway.
A course built for big events
The Green Eagle Golf Courses have been a professional stage for years, long known as the venue of the men’s Porsche European Open and now home of the LET’s Amundi German Masters. The course is long, laced with water and punishes every overly brave shot. Whoever finishes at the top here has played clean golf for a whole week.
Home game feeling
In 2026 I finished T25, but the German Masters is the week where the result is only half the story: German fans, family at the ropes, the Golf like a Girl clinic with dozens of girls on the range and a Ferris wheel behind the course. More in my report on the home game.
My tip for spectators
Come early and stand at the water holes of the closing stretch. Nowhere is a tournament more exciting than where a lead can drop into the water with a single shot.
